A very special thanks to the Henderson and Simmons Families for all that you did to make it such a successful Weekend! I would also like to thank everyone who helped upstairs(the AC was a plus) and especially all those that worked in the arena, loading cattle, handling goats and making everything run so smoothly. Thats what makes wrangler the BEST. A thank you also goes out to AFJRA, Jodi and Jessica Gray for allowing us to use their Tough Enough to Wear Pink Flag for the weekend. Everyone take care and I'll see you at River Ranch. Kim P.S. Thanks Rick for the TV for the Gator Game!!!

Attention ALL goat tyers!!! I have asked Lynn Smith, 1998 National Collegiate Rodeo Association Goat Tying Champion and Central Wyoming College girls rodeo coach, to put on another one of her awesome clinics here at Stormy Gray Arena! This clinic will take place December 19th & 20th and would make a fantastic Christmas present.
I generally don't like to push anything but I have to say that Lynn will show you skills and drills that will ONLY improve upon what you already know. You will leave her clinic a more competitive goat tyer if you apply what you learn from her. Jessica Gray, for example, has only been tying goats for 3 years now. Kirsten McManus introduced her to goat tying and from there her love for the event grew! I picked up one of Lynn's videos and was so impressed that I immediately looked to see if she put on clinics. The nearest one was Martin, TN! Well off to Martin we went. It was an incredible clinic and money well spent! So many of us spend hundreds of dollars each rodeo weekend and in some rodeos...$70 an event. Why not use an awesome clinic like this to better your skills and be a sharper goat tyer! Please go visit her website at www.goattyer.com to sign up. I think she is still charging $250 a weekend. Also, please let me know if you can bring a goat. Thanks and I hope you can make it!

Parents: Please check your kids MySpaces. Many of them are copying proofs from Mike Rastelli's website and posting them. This is illegal and just not right. Mike has worked very hard to be able to put his photos online so you all can view the proofs from the comfort of your homes. They are NOT to be copied. If it has mikerastelliphoto across the picture, it has been stolen from his website.

He doesn't mind if you have purchased a picture, scan IT and put it on their MySpace, that is fine. The FHSRA has asked for names of high school members that are doing this, Wrangler would also fall into this category. No one wants to get anyone in trouble.

This is how Mike makes a living!! He's good to all of our kids so please have them show Mr. Mike some respect.

Congratulations to Charles Weaver for winning the bullriding! To the contestants and parents, if you have not figured it out yet, this is a great organization and you have the best people running it this year. Your national director is 2nd best in the state,(only because I worked with the best!!) and your officers/directors are fair and for the kids. I suggest the parents get involed and get to know these people and help keep the organization as good as it is. This is a great stepping stone to the FHSRA. (Laurie, hugs and kisses to you and Kurt- miss you guys)

Barrel/Pole Horse for sale. She has been to Florida State Finals for FJRA, FHSRA-Wrangler and FHSRA for poles the last 3 years and was reserve champion for FJRA and Wrangler in 06-07, and Wrangler Nationals in '07. When she is ridden consistently she has run 3 low 20's in poles (Pierson FJRA and Lee Posse Friday Night Jackpot & Labelle). She can easily run in the 21's with a little consistent riding during the week. She is an easy keeper and knows her job when she sees a pole in the arena. Her barrels are usually middle of the pack, could be better with a consistent rider. We bought her as Ketucky State Fair Champion in barrels and poles in 2005. Only serious inquiries please! Call 850-428-4187.

ATTENTION GOAT TYERS: I have talked Ed Hughes (formerly Hawks Creek Arena) into having a jackpot goat tying. We're going to try it a couple of times in Aug. and see how it goes. He may then add it to his Buckle Series that include bull riding, steers, calves and sheep riding. The dates are Aug. 8th and Aug. 22 (Friday nights). It's just north of Hawthorne on CR 1474, not far from Ocala. Email me if you are interested, would be great practice for girls coming up into the FHSRA.

Just a few announcements for finals: make sure to reserve your stalls & hook-ups and pay for them as soon as you arrive - call 863-467-6039 or email: molleethagomez@semtribe.com for your reservations. No Tie-outs, every horse must have a stall. Fred Smith Arena will be paying for us to use the pool, so you will not be responsible for the $2.00 pool charge. Make sure you get a release form at check-in and have it completed prior to going over there. It is located just to the northeast of the arena. Any children 8 & under must have an adult with them to enter the pool area. This will be from 6-8 on Saturday. We will be cooking hamburgers & hotdogs there. So please bring meat, buns, & drinks for your family, along with a covered dish. We will provide condiments & paper goods. Everyone is welcome! No skateboards or rollerskates are allowed on the grounds. Eli's Western Wear in Okeechobee will be handing out door prizes to any contestant that comes to their store this weekend. Just wear your back number to collect your prize. Travel safe and call me with any questions 954-275-3683.

Just wanted to let everyone know. Last night Caleb Buchanans cousin Dillon Pinkston was at practice and while team roping he lost part of his thumb. Most know him, he is a member of the wrangler division. His local hospital transferred him to TGH in Tampa, yet they released him and told him to follow up with a surgeon. His mom and dad have taken him this afternoon to see the surgeon. I don't know yet what the surgeon has told them. Dillon is one tough little guy, he has just recovered from a fractured pelvis while riding bulls at a wrangler rodeo in Sarasota. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. Mom said he is having a rough time, he was so looking forward to riding in Brighton this weekend. If anyone wants to send any words of encouragement email me and I can give you his home address.
