This is an interesting and enjoyable poem, Wayne!
It causes me to reminisce tho, because when I was a child, we actually had a Barnyard Rooster that dominated all of the area outside of the fenced yard around our ranch house, and he would attack and flog me every time I attempted to go outside of the yard! His attacts were pretty severe to a child, as he literally made bad scratches with his spurs on my legs and bare back in one attack, and a small child was at serious risk as to damage to the face and eyes! It almost seems laughable, but a large Rooster can launch a formidable attact against anything that is near his size, as they have strong wings and sturdy wing bones, long sharp spurs, and can deliver piercing pecks with their beak!
My stepmother raised chickens, and refused to dispose of the Rooster. However, my grandfather and grandmother lived at the ranch with us in their own home! He settled the issue with a double barreled 12 guage shotgun after the last serious attact by the Rooster, and the rooster ended his domain by being served up with Dumplings!!!
