I want to be where you is,
Instead of where I be,
‘cause where you is,
and I is not,
it aint no place for me.

I use to think the world was great,
But now I think it isn’t,
‘cause you is gone,
where I is not,
and left me where you isn’t.

Back in high school, my English teacher asked us to write our own creative poem. We had a week to do it and this is what I wrote.
When I got my paper back…it had a big, red ‘F’ on it for improper grammar! Lmao
This is MY poem. Please respect that.
Wrote in 1988.

I feel OLD!
