i have a 3 yo pair that i hand raised from 3 weeks old i raised the cock first then the hen 6 months later both of these birds walk all over me they both talk and they are on there second nest of young i can look in the nest pick the young up and the pair just look at me the cock usually on my shoulder , i think that you have to get the birds grow up together so that they have been mates well before it is even time to think about breeding instead of putting a total stranger in with them when they have grown up and you will find that they are actually bonded with the person and it is hard to break this bond with a mature bird.
