Subject: POEM NEEDED "If these altar benches could talk"

Haven't been here in a loooooong time! I'm working on a thought . . . if these altar benches could talk. In a church service, much happens at our "altars". Repentence, lives changed, healings, prayers answered, spirit-infilling, etc. Can someone come up with a poem entitled "If these Altars Could Talk" and make it a poem ? Hope it's not too difficult. Thank you.

[I didn't copyrite this-so feel FREE to add,subtract
or change anything to suit YOUR desires. This was FUN! At our church, we don't have a Bench by our Altar so this was really stretching my imagination. Hope this 'help's a bit!
Love and blessings, Joy.]

If These Altars Could Talk...

Now here is a thought; if Altars talked what secrets would they tell?
We'd hear folks cry and make requests; we'd eavesdrop for a spell?

Some spill their guts; they wail and cry, "Lord, hear me when I pray!
"I'm ill, oh Lord, I need YOUR touch, please heal me right away!"

Some lives are changed as folks bow down and sometimes God says "Yes!"
We all have plans, but God does, too, we're not to second guess.

The Altar Bench has heard sad tales and some heart-felt requests,
Healings occur as prayers go up; we're glad that God knows best.

The Altar Bench shows some tear stains as folks confess their sin,
They've gone astray and now repent, wondering what 'might have been.'

Spirit-infilling happens too, when one opens their heart.
If Altars talked, they would rejoice, for this, God's gift, a start!

Aren't we so glad that Our Lord knows our stages and our end?
For "Praise" or "Need" we go up front and by the Altar, bend.

If Altars talked we'd be surprised to learn 'bout kith and kin'.
Glad we don't know, we'll pray for folks and love them with a grin.

That's perfect; thank you so much! I've been on vacation out of state and didn't have a chance to check the board. It will work perfectly for what I have in mind. Again, thanks. I really appreciate it.
