Subject: 2006.5 optima

I bouught a new optima im Oct of 06. It now has about 6k miles on it. We have had it in the shop 4 times, first time at 2500k, because the check engine light came on, the check it out found a random misfire, cleared the code and said have a nice day. At 4500 miles same thing couldnt find a thing cleared the code said have a nice day. 200 hundred miles light came on again and started flashing. Had to be towed. They checked it same thing. However this time i said there is something is wrong. So they called Kia tech support, by the time they were done they had disassembled the whole top of the engine. When they were donethere was a cam pin wore out. At 5500 miles. They had it a week and the light hasnt came back on but I can only wonder what will be next and if any other damage was done. Today the trunk decided it wont latch so back to the shop it went. Its a lemon and from what I have read, there all junk. We are getting ours declared a lemon, because my life and that of my family is more important to me then it is to Kia. Stay away
