We have a 2006.5 Kia Optima LEMON also! Your story sounds very similar to ours. You can see our whole ordeal at http://optimaproblem.blogspot.com/

We think there are MAJOR safety issues with this car and that a class action suit against KIA should be started! We are trying to find more people who have this same problem with their KIA.
