The "missing tree" problem is discussed in other places in this forum -see for example "Tree AWOL". One explanation in your case is that other users have their browser security set so high that applets are not loaded. Another idea is that some users don't have java enabled, don't have java installed or else have a conflict between MSFT and SUN versions.
