Why make life so complicated? The dftcom2 applet program supports images seamlessly, and it even transfers the image files automatically into the subdirectory containing the zip and jar files when they're created. All you need to do is transfer the subdirectory exactly as it is (with your own personalized web page) to the server. If the client can access the applet jar file, then it can access the images.
