If you put a 2" pipe down with at least 4' of screen on the bottom, you don't have to use the driven pipe to pull water. You could put a 1 1/4" pipe down inside the driven pipe and suck from that water tight straw.

The pump you would use if you did this would not have a 2" inlet, but a 1 1/4" or 1" inlet.
