The larger the tank, the less wear and tear on the pump. If you have a large family with higher than average peak demands - e.g. the laundry is sometimes being done while someone is taking a bath and the dishwasher is running - then you might want to consider installing a larger pressure tank. In the interim, use a tire gauge to check the psi in the storage tank you have now. What is the diameter of your well? How deep is it? Is the well located somewhere in the basement? Is the well also used for irrigation purposes? The more you can tell us about your well, the better we can help you.
