I have a problem with the pump out performing the recovery of the water coming back through the slots in the PVC casing. The well is about 12 years old, 50 feet deep with a 1 hp jet pump. The casing is 4-inch PVC, the slots are cut in the last 20 ft of the casing. The problem started last year. This year hired a local pump guy to treat it with "approved chemicals". The treatment helped very little. I have use wire brushes to clean the interior of the casing, that also had very little effect on the recovery rate of the water. The water table is 22 ft below the surface, it has been the same of years. We have red sandstone in this area. The material that I got back with the wire brushes was red/rust color.

How can I clean out the slots or maybe cut new slots in the PVC casing ?
