You cold pay someone to drill you a shallow well. For two inch shallow wells, the charge around here is $500, I think. I'm not even positive that he two inch/shallow well guys need a license in a state like FL that is pretty strict on well drillers, so that is why it is s cheap. Getting power out there would be a headache. Buried, it has to be 2 feet down to meet code. Maybe you could get the irrigation guy to dig another ditch for you while he is there anyway? Be cheaper than renting a ditch digger.

Uh, that may not be what I mean. The controller box talked about may refer to the electronic control box (I call it the brain) What I am talking about is the solenoid valves. Some guys like to run a main line through the yard with a "T" for each zone and each T has a solenoid valve and the wire runs under he pipe to each valve. That means that solenoid valves are all over the place rather then one place lined up nicely. Also ask them if they can put in someway to easily remove and replace the solenoid valves. Probably another fitting or two (maybe a union or two?) would help immensely when it goes bad and needs to be changed.
