I must be the only one amused by the industry's concern about homeowners washing wells down, particularly in a suburban environment.

These urban and suburban houses are serviced by chlorinated, fluoridated, tested and certified water. This is the water will pollute the surface aquifer? The same surface aquifer they are drilling test holes all over the place to test for pollution caused by gas stations, dry cleaners and other businesses?

I suppose that a homeowner could use water from one of our lakes to wash his well down, but since most of our lakes are not spring fed but fed by the surficial aquifer, the same suficial aquifer he wants to pump from, it is still a stretch for me to consider that he could make he water worse than it is.
