Could be. Only if the seal is so tight that air can't get down there, though. That's why I am talking about 1 1/4" inside connectors.

You could try it. It should work.

Could be. Try developing it some more. Try compressed air at the bottom of the well.

Only thing I can think of is to try and "screw" it down with a 14" or thereabouts pipe wrench.
