You don't get nutritive value out of plants like ruminants (cows, sheep, etc., to you) do, because your gut is too short. Everything goes through too fast, no time for proper microbial action to take place. The answer? Eat animal flesh. It's what you're designed to eat—that and some nuts and fruit. Subject Author Date hunter-gatherer means a gatherer who can occasionally hunt when food becomes scarce.
