Former Anti-Chadi
's message, "I'm afraid I lost you, chadi...What is the farming that drastically degrades the environment, and how does this relate to the length of our intestines??" on 03:03:37 01/08/03 Wed
First, look at statistics and facts about farming allover the globe, and you directly see its impact on the environment, and I was clear about the water consumption point. Economically, a certain area of land would produce greatly more proteins if you use it for cereal production (agriculture) rather than red meat production(farming). Ask an educated Australian (since you mentioned Australian meat producers) about the Australian environmental problems and cause of deforestations and he will directly tells you "farming" even if he's a great meat-eater.
Second, i would advice someone to search about the actual length of the human intestin before claiming that we should digest cellulose if don't want to eat meat!!! the ignorant post saying that we should digest cellulose to be able to be vegan is also based on an even more ignorant assumption, which is assuming that it's merely the length of the intestin that determins if a body can digest cellulose, and not the digestive enzymes, which would not be available whatever the length of the GI is and I wouldn't want to rely on bacteria. So of course I wouldn't give importance to such ignorant empty posts by someone calling himself "antichadi", who just wants to be against "me" in everything I say, even if what he comes out with are ignorant and/or inaccurate facts and absurd arguments (like we should digest cellulose, and not consume it as a fiber to prevent constipation).
Third, I mentioned the pesticides and ferilizers as a P.S. It doesn't have necessarily something to do with the subject, so you can ignore it if you want unless you find something wrong in the statement itself.
