Just to let you know, there are katas or forms out there that do include the stuff you mention...Keichu-do!!

Its also known as Cajun Karate, the guy I know who teaches it name is Wes Ulmer...

Hello to all the guys who have put in such valuable knowledge in this forum.

In my opinion kata is not important for real combat. However parts of kata are used in real combat. There seems to be a confusion about kata and form. kata is a traditional set of techniques put together. But a form can be any few techniques put togehter. so I would suggest that small and effective forms are neccessary for combat not katas. they speed the mind and body which can play a vital role in real combat.
