And now to get going...READ THIS ALL CAREFULLY!! -- B (Eager), 20:02:29 12/10/06 Sun
I guessed no one would read this if it was in the general cast list, so here are some more details.
1/ REHEARSALS: Broadway C groups are re-organised this term to accommodate rehearsals. If you are a Nool citizen please come to the 2.25 class. If you are a Who come at 4.15. Any problems, e-mail me. The Sunday rehearsal schedule will be up within the next week.
2/ Would you please e-mail me with your choice of stuff you would prefer to help with:
Set-building/ Costume-making/ Prop-making/ Print-work/ Poster or programme copying (erm, cheap)/ help setting up for the show/ help clearing up after the show/ script librarian/ raffle organiser/ make-up artist... PLEASE NOTE that everyone will be asked to pitch in, so state your preference before I lump you with a job that you hate!
voice.squad@virgin.net
3/ A large number of people still owe their audition fee..please bring it to the first Saturday back or I shall embarass you by asking infront of everybody.
4/As soon as the scripts come thru, I would like to see the following people privately (and if you have singing lessons WITH ANYONE I will give you your stuff to take along):
Jojos, Hortons, Cats, Gertrudes, Mayzies, Mayors/-esses, Schmitz's, Grinches, Yertles, Bird Girls, Sour Kangaroo/ Young K, Wickershams... Preferably once (or more for huge parts)before Christmas to give you your music (bring tapes to record if you learn best that way) & one backup session after Christmas. All lines/ solos/ duets/ trios are to be memorised by the second LMA Saturday back!!!I will call you all...see you soon!
Break a leg.

Love from Romania -- Rachel, 16:33:10 11/16/06 Thu
Hi all you lovely people at lma. I hope you are all well. I am having an incredible time in Romania.
I live in Brasov in the mountains, it's a gorgeous city. I spend most of my working hours in a hospital and 2 'family houses' (small orphanages).
I work on a respiratory ward in a children's hospital with abandoned babies and toddlers in the mornings.
In the afternoons/evenings i work in two family houses (small orphanages)- 'Chip' and 'Domino'. Chip has 11 children aged 3-7 years with varying abilites. I spend a lot of time singing and dancing with the children here.
'Domino' has 12 children aged 1-13 with severe disabilities.
Some weekends i work at a large orphanage with about 100 children aged 7-18.
I really enjoy my work, although at times it can be very sad and frustrating, seeing the children laugh and smile is wonderful. It is very rewarding.
I wish i could bring all the children home, many would make fantastic cadets!
I cannot believe i have been here over two months, i will be very sad to leave. But obviously looking forward to seeing all you mad lma-ers.
It has been lovely and snowy over here, i am hoping to get a bit of skiing in before i come home. The nearest ski resort is just 20 minutes on the bus!
Lots of love,
Rachel xxxxxx

the strangest thing... -- Kat xx (confused), 14:45:45 11/14/06 Tue
the weirdest thing just happened to me - I was happily driving along the A14 when some guy in an NFU Mutual car pulled alongside me and tried to show me something written on a card through his window...whilst driving at about 70mph...I don't have a clue what he was trying to tell me but I do have insurance with NFU - just not my car insurance!! I rang them for a quote ages ago so the only thing I can think of is that he remembered my number plate. Thats just a tad weird though. I am slightly confused...................................

Hellooo -- sah (tired), 10:37:35 11/09/06 Thu
Hellooo!
How is everyone?! It's been ages since i've been on here and seen the goings on. Hope everyones good and having lots of fun.
Yesterday I reached the tender age of 22 years and I feel SO old! I know its not old but you know... I'll be 30 soon! (not that thats bad or anything) I'll be 25 when I graduate!!! no 26! ugh. error. The good thing tho as you get older is people around you have BABIES!!! (Inga - hurry up!) I'm now a proud godmother to a beautiful little girl.(Your ex-flute student Phil - Catherine Hudson/Bartram) Very exciting! I want one now (a baby not a flute)
Anyway; I went to see Wicked that night that the big fat round thing fell over and Idina was pee'ing her pants - t'was rather amusing. I loved the show and I cried my eyes out at the end of the wizard and I and, of course, Defying Gravity. I'm such a hormonal woman!!!
Birgitta I have so much to tell you. I havnt had a chance to speak to you since 'that talk'. I'm home next weekend for something and I should b seeing you on sat night anyway but I'll try and email you before then.I never got to see ceris in the end as I'm so skint so I'm having lessons through college with a lady called Verity Quade. Shes lovely and shes in The sound of Music and was in J Springer the opera; she can belt her ass off!
Hi Phil! Hope your well and keeping yourself busy when B is away! Also hello to everyone I haven't spoken to in yonks i.e Caff, Kat (thank u for birthday hello), James, Lewis & Vicky, Steve, Hannah, Nicki, Inga, Lucy... etc
Right, I'm off to have some breakfast then going to meet Dominic of the Nunn variety :D I want to hear from some more oldies!!!!
Lots of Love :)

- Well hello :) ... and sorry :( -- Dominic, 16:50:51 11/02/06 Thu
As the subject states this is a "Hello" message! And also a "Sorry" message. The sorries are absolutely massive for being totally appalling at keeping in contact with anyone. And for that I apologise so much that it's actually hurting my mouth now :(
Hope everyone's ok and all is going well everywhere back in England?!
It has been odd being away for so long and I have missed people a lot, but being so busy here has made me kinda lose track of things which have happened elsewhere.
Am now halfway through my first semester of my 2nd year in Cardiff, and I'm seriously overloaded with work, but unfortunately I'm just not at all in the mood to do it, which is a very bad thing. Oh well...!
Not really anything else happening here atm, well nothing terribly exciting! LOL
Got a couple of concerts coming up soon which I'm hoping I'm gonna be better for (well, they are in December, so I should be!).
Once again I apologise profusely for not keeping in contact. I'm a very, very naughty boy!! Hehe
Will hopefully see you all soon
Dominic

1: I saw Avenue Q in London last nite(tue) it was fantastic, so funny i nearly wee'd myself.i dont hink ive ever laughed so hard, i was crying with laughter!! I really recomend it (for the older Llamas, not the baby ones)
2: I CANNOT believe this....i missed a competition to sing in covent garden to a panel of judges as part of 'Wicked' day!! I could have dressed up as elphaba(again) as it helps to be the "most 'wicked'" and the winner gets to meet the cast, gets reallly good tickets and 2 nights in london hotel plus a variety of other prizes!! how could i have missed this??*bangs head against brick wall*

Yawnnnnnnn! -- b (quizzical), 22:36:26 10/24/06 Tue
Doesn't take much for you guys to switch off, hey?
Anyway, I'm going to see Wicked this week (yeah, Soph xxxxx) and Footloose next week which stars Amy Pemberton who taught at our wond'rous summer skool about 3 years ago...
Have spent this week learning the double bass for our first (in-house) show this Friday.... which I have to characterise as a mouse...hoorah! Might need some luck for that.
Anyways, hope you're all having a good rest & coming back re-vitalised for a more challenging term than ever. Points will be MUCH HARDER TO EARN than they are at summer school!!!!! But so worth it........
Let's keep this message board sizzling....leave us your news, thoughts, cleverness.....

song idea....!! -- Soapie (laughing hardly and muchly), 23:37:02 10/19/06 Thu
This is from Spamalot, I think we shud do it!! :-D
The Song that Goes Like This Lyrics
Once in every show
There comes a song like this
It starts off soft and low
And ends up with a kiss
Oh where is the song
That goes like this?
Where is it? Where? Where?
A sentimental song
That casts a magic spell
They all will hum along
We'll overact like hell
For this is the song that goes like this
Yes it is! Yes it is!
Now we can go straight
Right down the middle eight
A bridge that is too far for me
I'll sing it in your face
While we both embrace
And then
We change
The key
Now we're into E!
*hem* That's awfully high for me
But as everyone can see
We should have stayed in D
For this is our song that goes like this!
I'm feeling very proud
You're singing far too loud
That's the way that this song goes
You're standing on my toes
Singing our song that goes like this!
I can't believe there's more
It's far too long, I'm sure
That's the trouble with this song
It goes on and on and on
For this is our song that is too long!
We'll be singing this til dawn
You'll wish that you weren't born
Let's stop this damn refrain
Before we go insane
For this is our song that ends like this!

Suffolk Festival -- Daniel's Dad, 19:39:53 10/17/06 Tue
Just wanted to say well done, and more importantly thank-you to all Llamas that took part in the festival last weekend.
As a member of the audience, I was (as usual) blown away by your talent, obvious hard work and enjoyment - but what really struck me is just what a fantastic group of people you are. Your support of the festival, the poor unfortunate competitors that are yet to be Llamas and of course each other is fantastic. I was very proud to be associated with LMA this weekend, and I'm sure that the you sent Mamma Llama back to Hitchin very proud (if very tired)
Looking forward to next year already!!!!!

And what's more my mobile phone crashed last week & has only just been mended, so I was on my own little Hitchin Island for a bit there.
Can now at least do internet!
Yay!
A thought:
house points will be earnable for knowledge about shows being studied in class atm... and don't forget I shall be running a Musical Theatre Quiz at the end of term!!!!!

Hey everybody! I totally forgot to tell everyone in broadway yesterday but incase you haven't heard Laura will be doing another Streetdance workshop after half term (I think) so hurry up and put your name down at the front desk. Me and several others have just done a streetdance workshop for the last four weeks and it was brilliant, really good fun and we even got to work in smaller groups to choreograph our own pieces for the last two weeks which was also really good fun! So hurry up and put your names down!
Have a good half term, and hope everything went well for all those who were in the festivil last night, I'm sure you did L.M.A proud!

Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ive got this damned song going through my head with a bit of tune and lyrics but know idea what comes next, what musical its from, anything. its driving me absolutely mad. Why is it always that bit that bears absolutly no relevance to the rest of the song so makeing it absolutely impossible to seach for at all. It would be alright if it we the title line but no its got to be that piddley little middle bit. And also the fact that nobody tries to help you. If youd broken your leg oh all the sympathy in the world what about this this is exactly the same, if not worse and the fact that Im surrounded by total morons who know nothing anyway its killing me. Ive searched high and low for it nowhere, i suppose it doesnt help not knowing its name but thats not the point. Anyway im going to slowly stew in my maddness for a while-couldit be this? could it be that? and why do i care Ive now spent about 2 hours looking for this stupid song and its not even important its just... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

cover songs.... -- Kat xx (unimpressed), 16:12:44 10/01/06 Sun
I just heard Westlife's new single - do they ever do anything but cover songs???? They've covered 'The Rose' which is a Bette Midler song that Style sang years ago and they haven't even bothered to change anything about it! They haven't released any original music for years, have they? It seems annoying that there are loads of singers/bands who are releasing original music trying to make it in the music business and yet westlife can keep getting high in the charts with rubbish covers!
sorry for ranting!!

Fun facts about trees -- Zoey (All Shakespeared up!), 19:36:06 09/19/06 Tue
Trees keep our air supply fresh by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen.
In one year, an acre of trees can absorb as much carbon as is produced by a car driven up to 8700 miles.
Trees provide shade and shelter, reducing yearly heating and cooling costs by 2.1 billion dollars.
Trees lower air temperature by evaporating water in their leaves.
The average tree in metropolitan area survives only about 8 years!
A tree does not reach its most productive stage of carbon storage for about 10 years.
Trees cut down noise pollution by acting as sound barriers.
Tree roots stabilize the soil and prevent erosion.
Trees improve water quality by slowing and filtering rain water as well as protecting aquifers and watersheds.
Trees provide protection from downward fall of rain, sleet, and hail as well as reduce storm run-off and the possibility of flooding,
Trees provide food and shelter for wildlife.
Trees located along streets act as a glare and reflection control.
The death of one 70-year old tree would return over three tons of carbon to the atmosphere
One of the tallest soft wood trees is the General Sherman, a giant redwood sequoia of California. General Sherman is about 275 ft or 84 m high with a girth of 25 ft or 8 m.
The 236 ft or 72 m high Ada Tree of Australia has a 50 ft or 15.4 m girth and a root system that takes up more than an acre.
The world's tallest tree is a coast redwood in California, measuring more than 360 ft or 110 m.
The world's oldest trees are 4,600 year old Bristlecone pines in the USA.

Hobbits wanted for Rings musical -- Gillie, 00:22:59 09/13/06 Wed
Hobbits wanted for Rings musical
Producers of the Lord of the Rings musical are on the look out for actors - preferably with "hobbit-like tendencies" who can sing two songs.
Auditions are to be held to find 20 hobbits for the musical, ahead of its move to London's Theatre Royal in 2007.
Potential applicants should be under 5ft 7ins (170cm) and aged 16-35. Hairy toes and feet are a "distinct advantage," said producers.

storytime... Wants pawn term... -- Gillie, 12:34:49 09/11/06 Mon
Some of you have probably come across this kind of thing before...the original words have been replaced with words which sound like the words they're supposed to be (you may have done something like this to learn dialects or languages)... anyway, this particular one comes from "Anguish Languish", by Howard L. Chace, originally published in 1956 and is a well known story.... Best read aloud! :-)

Giraffic Park -- Zoey (Weird), 18:45:10 09/02/06 Sat
A weird poem I found. Tis about films made about giraffes, with an original llama interpretation.
Got no violence-
Got no sex-
Just those critters
With big long necks.
( and these are real- not special effects )
Got no car chases-
No gunshots-
Just big yellow critters
That gots brown spots.
Got no kickboxing-
No kung fu fighting-
To tell you the truth
It ain't that exciting.
Got no Melanie Griffith-
No Keanu Reeves-
Just big tall critters
That just eat leaves.
Won't see Jack Nicholson - won't see Cher
Won't see Mel Gibson's derriere...
Not much of an adventure -
And very few laughs,
But one thing it does got... giraffes.
Original Llama Interpretation:
Snort.
Snort.
Shuffle.
Trot about briefly before losing interest.
Spit.
Snort.

Oh my goodness me! The most exciting thing! The barbers were on holiday in france when as we were crossing a roundabout, randomly on the side of the road were some..... LLAMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was very exciting. As part of LMA bethany and me felt it was our duty to take some pictures. This caused much amusement. Dad was taking the picture of Bethany and me with the llamas, 1 started to run towards us and suddenly sneezed (we think!) This made us jump so much that because Bey was closest to the llama she legged it just in time for dad to take the picture!!! hehe, its seriously attractive! Unfortunatly i cant seem to add the photos to this message, which upsets me as i think it would cause much hesteria throughtout LMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, hope everyone is ok! I'll see you all very soon, much love
Bethany and ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S Well done to everyone with GCSE's and A levels!

Well...it's taken me this long to get on here as I quite literally have been in a state of shock since the end of the two weeks - two weeks that I can only say were akin to suddenley passing from the rudeness and over-grossality of the apparently 'real world' into one of true, soft beauty of you people and who you all are... I feel quite humbled and priviliged to have worked with and gained so much support from everyone this year...it was too fantastic to end and I can't believe it already has - so to you all, keep the love, keep the faith, keep in touch :) [and keep an eye out for any challenges that might well appear between now and next years summer school!]

WITHDRAWAL SYMPTONS!!! DANGEROUS WITHDRAWAL SYMPTONS!!! -- Zoey (Brain imploding), 19:43:52 08/20/06 Sun
AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!! I'm having LMA withdrawal symptons!
I've also been desperatly searching the internet for 'Enchanted' lyrics AND CAN'T FIND THEM ANYWHERE! It's annoying me coz I've had 'Unusual Love Song' stuck in my heads for ages but have had to replace a lot of the words with 'la' coz I can't remember them!
Can't wait to see all the llamas! Not too long (Thank God!)
Love you all
Zoey

Big Ups from Bedford! -- Jennie (Homely), 10:34:08 08/20/06 Sun
Hello everyone...
As I am in a state of movingness and as the computer people at school don't let me access message boards and as I have not visited the public library... this is my first opportunity to visit this board (am at mum and dad's) ... So much to say...
Loved being a student - you were all so good and fun and supportive and stuff...
Loved student LMA - you were proper mad and marvellous and inspiring and whatnot...
Has anyone got a copy of the programme with next year's provisional dates - my brother wants to whisk my whole family off to Norfolk and he keeps mentioning dangerous early Augusty dates...

Much fun was had and you are all legends! Although very tired and not enjoying the real world - your messages make it all worthwhile.

Missing Summer School and everyone there! -- Ellie (sadness), 19:23:39 08/12/06 Sat
OH MY GODNESS! Summer school was totally awsome I miss it so much and really want to go back asap! I miss the smell of Culford on a morning and the dinner ladies who I think were atempting to food poisen us all ("ONE PUDDING ONLY") It wasd a brilliant week though and I miss everyone so much. Well done to everyone for the show, and ignore what the freek head said below, obviously they can't dance and don't have any talent what so ever so they should really get their bums in gear, stop wasting their lives on 'illegal things' and realise that we have the time of our lives and will most probably have a better furure than they ever will! The dancing was fab, and nobody should diss our teacher that way because she is fantastic at what she does. If anyone could name and shame this person the security people of LMA would apriciate it a great deal! Well done to everyone once again and thank you for making this week the best week of my holidays so far!
All my love in the world and more your Ellie bellie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dance Coward -- Kat, 11:59:04 08/10/06 Thu
I agree with enda - you are being cowardly and going against everything that makes LMA such a great stage school. the people who belong to it are usually genuine people who don't judge others. Please don't leave such offensive messages in places where we have to read them, because we don't want to share your petty, immature views.
I suggest that if you do have genuine issues, you should do as Edna says and email them to her.
Kat

Such a shame that you have so little to say that you are proud of that you must post messages without revealing your identity. Your postings seem to be one of sour grapes and immaturity - grow up - if you want to be taken seriously please reveal your identity and a sensible dialogue can take place -
E-mail me!
