Thanks everyone for turning out today (including parents on a Sunday!!) and making such an effort during the audition sessions.
I'm putting the cast list together with much excitement, and should be able to put the final casting up by Tuesday eve at the latest...maybe even Monday night.
Then arrangements for script collection will have to be made...will notify that too.

Everybody was absolutely fab yesterday!! I'm so glad I could have been part of such an amazing group! We truely did sound fantasti and we don't need any prize to prove it!

Thank you all so much for letting us be part of your amazing journey in Choir of the Year 2008.
It's not just the wonderful singing and performing that makes you lot so special - it's also about the way you conduct yourselves off stage. You're a credit to yourselves and to LMA Stage School.
If nothing else, at least you've taught Taplow a little bit of dress sense......anyone want to buy 30 shiny long dresses. I know where some are going cheap!!!!!

If travelling under own steam, you need to be at the Festival Hall by 1 o'clock, waiting for us at the Artiste's Entrance.
Competition starts 4.30, and finishes 8, when we board the coach.
Approx arrival Bury 10.30pm / 11 pm.
There are still seats available on the fourth bus - £10 per seat - if anyone wants to just go to London for the afternoon.

Thank you all SOOOO much for your extreme hard work today... so much progress has been made! A big smile and hug to you all.
Study thoughts: re-cap briefly over our new pictures/ harmony sorting from today AS SOON AS YOU CAN, pref just for a few mins on Monday. That'll save you panic and extra time later in the week. Especial attention to notes in that tricky long bit in the train, and practise the run of 8 reps with the correct arm, slowing up (4th rep onwards), notes, diminuendo, and breathing (SO NOT on 6 and 7, and a clean one on 8).
Firm up all your pictures!
See y'all (nearly) Thursday, dressed warmly with a bit of Crimbo deco.. Arrive 5.30 (no later, and traffic will be AWFUL as late-night shopping), warm up, sing 5.45 sharp.
And watch this space for the Saturday venue.

Ok, seniors...I am still trying to get hold of a samba workshop...
I have just been on the phone to Suffolk Samba, who have really kindly offered us to sit in on their rehearsal for free!!! It's in Ipswich and features dancers and a FULL SAMBA DRUMMING BAND, so you would REALLY get the feel of the music.
I unfortunately can't go, BUT it'd be brilliant for as many of you as can manage it to get together and share lifts and attend for a bit. It'd probably be even better than a private workshop as you'd have the full band there too...
ST PETER'S CHURCH IPSWICH, 7.30 THIS THURSDAY.

BBC Radio 3 will feature highlights from the Category Finals in ‘The Choir’:
- Youth and Adult Category Finals - 6.30pm, 16th November;
- Children and Open Category Finals – 6.30pm, 23rd November.
The Grand Final will be broadcast in full on Radio 3’s ‘Performance on 3’ at 7pm, on the 8th December.
BBC FOUR will show TV highlights of the Grand Final at 7.30pm (tbc), on the 12th December.

Squad Seniors, when they gave that stunning performance completely
unconducted?
They were magnificent, and I believe they were chosen as a wildcard and will
be competing at the RFH. Congratulations to you and all your singers (if it

I'm putting this up as away from my computer till Fri and wanted to give advance warning: PLEASE CHECK AGAIN THEN for confirmations.
We may be able to start rehearsals at 9 on Sat for the rest of term...this will help with not having to call a thousand extra sessions during weekdays when I know lots of you are busy with other rehearsals/ homework/ events. I will keep those to a real minimum.
The pieces we are doing I am waiting to have confirmation for: they will involve a bit of extra learning for a few people so please be aware some of you may need to stay on after rehearsal on Sat. I've checked the dance list and this won't affect any of you. Again details friday.
The train is an absolute certain so please keep working on that.
There will be at least one bus, poss 2: we'll try to accommodate all singers and family who want to go BUT need to know numbers this weekend please.
We might be on Radio 3 next Sunday, 6.30, on The Choir!

If any of you (like me) bought tickets early this afternoon thinking they were nearly sold out & got seats in some obscure corner right at the back - you CAN change them for better seats. There are still a lot of good seats left since they released more tickets - just ring the box office & they will reserve you some better seats whilst you return the original tickets to them.

Congratulations to all you senior squaddies. You deserve that place in the finals so much.I told Shannon you would get through on the wild card before she left on Saturday morning. I told her you SHOULD win it because you would be the best but wouldn't because you are so unique but you will get through on the wild card because you are SOOOO good!!!
