If any of you (like me) bought tickets early this afternoon thinking they were nearly sold out & got seats in some obscure corner right at the back - you CAN change them for better seats. There are still a lot of good seats left since they released more tickets - just ring the box office & they will reserve you some better seats whilst you return the original tickets to them.

CHECKLIST: GIRLS
New shoes, ickle sock things, trousers, black strappy top, black bra, new blue top, new earrings, black hair stuff and any necessary sprays (not to be used indoors please). No jewellery or coloured nails. Blue/ black make up (we can all share if you don’t own stuff). Food, water.
CHECKLIST: BOYS
Polished black shoes, black sox, trousers, black long sleeved shirt, waistcoat, belt, no jewellery. Comb where appropriate, food, water.
BUS DEPARTS RAM MEADOW 6.15AM: don't be late.Or I may have to kill you.
I am hoping the bus will arrive at Blackburne House (L8 7PE) @ 11 so we can rehearse: if you are travelling separately please give me a ring at @ 9.30 to check progress and be prepared to turn up for around that time. 07967 126 740. The competition clarified to me only yesterday that the sound check is a short one, and I’d like to have a proper warm-up and sing first. So apologies that this time is a little earlier than previously anticipated, but it is obviously important.

Well, this is now the home straight and I'm really encouraged at what we got thru today... you've worked so hard, and the IMMENSE amount of support you managed to get in was utterly fabulous.
Focus on:
Wade: all the tiny details and little pictures we created
Khutso....SING TO THE ENDS OF THE PHRASES!@!!!! People were blatantly switching off and shutting mouths when they should have been singing....you won't get any matks for standing there with your mouth shut. And let's face it, we have talked about that (more than once or twice...more than briefly!!!)
Mas Que Nada: all the little details WHILE doing the new moves at the beginning and the middle, and the old and new claps... And looking as if it's easy. ALL OF YOU need to work at this INCREDIBLY hard...Because it'll be STUNNING when it's right.
And please think thru your clothes/ jewellery/ hair better next week. Boys make sure you turn up with CLEAN POLISHED smart black shoes and trousers: I will tell you if you need anything else, on this message board, by tomorrow midnight!

It has been decided:
Boys will need plain black lace-ups with a simple small heel - no tractor tyres. (and trousers - ordinary black seem OK). BLACK SOX!!! We'll decide about belts when we have the waistcoats - cummerbunds might be better.
Girls: I will drop into Matalan and check out the ones Vicky found. If they are good I will order them or find something on line but I need your shoe sizes NOW please!!! I think you'll need some kind of sock/ other ankle coverage to avoid white ankles peeping out. Opinions?
For the Cabaret 26th we will wear pevious uniform - black/ ties and blue tops with boys white shirts.
For the 1st Nov onwards it'l be new togs.

First, my apologies for failing to sort out a letter this week...purely an oversight on my part among the current LMA/ Squad busy-ness.
Second: there is a big Cabaret 26th Oct, 7pm Beyton Middle School at which I am planning on also showcasing the Cadets. I am aware it's half-term: the date was the only one manageable... So could you please let me know URGENTLY if you're not available.
Third: unless it escaped your attention, you'll be aware that the Seniors are through to the Radio 3 Choir of the Year Category Finals, which is a major feat and a matter of Squad pride! I am keen that as many Cadets as possible should go and watch and support...this is YOUR Choir, and someday many of YOU will graduate into its ranks. All LMA and Voice Squad has been re-scheduled from that day (dates as they appear on your Date List so don't panic - no adjustments to that info) , so you aren't required at classes. If you'd like seats on the bus please ring the LMA number, 01359 271925.
Details:
The Competition day itself:
The competition is at the Royal Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool, 2.15pm, Sat 8th Nov finishing @ 5.45pm. You can book your tickets on 0151 7093 7898 or www.liverpoolphil.com: they are £12, but £10 if you quote code COY01 for Squad families. There are 5 other performers, and the winner will be announced on the day. At the end of the weekend, 2 runners-up will also be put through from across the 4 categories. The Final is in London, 7th December, televised.
The coach will leave Bury St Edmunds Ram Meadow at 6.15am: coach tickets will be £20 for supporters.14-and-unders must make their own chaperone arrangements please.

Khutso - check meanings and listen to Latin/ Gregorian Chant and African music.
Wade - CHECK HARMONIES, esp bottom Sopranos, boys in the various "Waaaaade" passages, altos quite a few places, top sops the screamey high "CHU-U-ULDREN"... EVERYONE: please clean up those fast bits that are still slurring.
Mas Que - Harmonies. Words at speed. Get claps sorted out...they'll get a lot harder this Saturday.
Carol of the Universe: LEARN NOTES THROUGHOUT. Concert 26th.
Red Dwarf/ Blackkadder...new people learn, BOYS LEARN THE BLACKADDER CHORUSES...beware individual testing is imminent.
I'M A TRAIN: all please go over and over and over...it's ever so shaky and is in the concert 26th.

We have begun to issue rather swanky Day Passes to all students offering thier friends a free trial to Saturday classes... if you could help by being pro-active and encouraging your off-spring to make sure those tickets aren't wasted, for every friend that jojns us in our fun and creative Stage School, you'll get a fiver off next term's bill!

Can't remember wot we said about rehearsal trousers - sorry: please write your notices down in rehearsal as I haven't really got millions of minutes to answer tons of e-mails of everyone who can't remember - much as I love you all! I know it's a lot to take on board. Let's focus on singing this week.
