Well-itsy well-itsy well-itsy.
Yes.
Right so me and the delightful Hannah Shiply have been very erm... 'privelleged' this week, as we have a theatre company called 'GECKO' who specialise in pysical theatre in our school at the moment. We're currently working on a show with them which pormises to be well... a little bit weird, in a good way.
It includes an interesting (i.e. Frigging HILARIOUS) piece of drama done by some of our sixth form boys and some other cool stuff as well done by us.
Most of which is very embarrassing.
We have to dance around to Backstreet Boys.
*sighs*
Anyway, it's this Friday 7:00pm at Thurston Community College in the Auditorium. It doesn't cost anything to come and watch so please do!!

I'm afraid we've had to cancel the G4 bus, senior Squaddies. Instead of the 25 people that said they wanted the bus there were 12, of whom only 4 have paid (you will be refunded) and we can't afford to go ahead with it. Would everyone please ensure they have made alternative arrangements.

Oh my life people, yesterday I saw 'Dirty Dancing' in London and it was uterly, fantastically, amazing, bloomin brilliant!! I loved it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. We all stood up near the end and clapped to 'Ive Had the Time of My Life' (the guy who played Johnny was so HOT - especially when he took his top off!!). Also I met the guy who plays Martin in Eastenders and got his autograph during the interval - I'm telling you yesterday was so AMAZING!!

Good and bad news about the National Festival.
Hoorah for the Cadets and Hip & Happening who all got thru to Birmingham.
Sadly nor did Broaday B, but I think that was a mixture of last minute drop-outs, and a rather large error on the day (you know what that was , guys!)
The mystifying factor for me is why the Seniors have not made it, after 2 years of singing really fabulously with 100% positive reports. That is quite beyond me, and I am thinking to channel our efforts elsewhere in future... clearly you also do stonkingly good gigs, so let's look forward to the G4 event for the mo.

I have put together a new All-girl Cabaret band, which launches in its professional capacity on July 14th...
However, we're stuck for a name!
Any ideas?
These are the criteria:
Classy, sassy, witha touch of magic & mystery/ sparkle. No cheese, and probably no musical puns as they've all been done before. Also preferably not "The ....s" (ie if we were to be called after bookworms, we wouldn't be "The bookworms", but we would be "Bookworm"). Also avoiding stuff with dodgy connotations, OR that makes us sound like a tribute band. Or that exists already.
We have looked into precious stones & metals as being strong possibilities...and have a coupla options, but we thought we'd consult you.
Any inspired ideas?

This is definitely NOT the year to miss summer school!!!!
Set at the top of a hill overlooking a sparkling lake over which towers Framlingham Castle, the College has the most amazing facilities...
beautiful theatre (with fantastic lighting!), recital room,
Chapel for atmospheric projects, great sleeping accommodation
and classy nosh (but they will do smiley faces if we request them!!!).
There's still facility for swimming, and also expanses of beautiful gardens & mereside walks, so in addition to the fun of the performance classes there's a real holiday feel about the setting.
The buildings are full of mod cons and in excellent condition - hoorah!

Went to the West End on Saturday and went to see Les Mis which was fantastic.
While we were there had the usual visit to Dress Circle to buy the Seussical CD and music book - coz it was such a brilliant show. GUESS WHAT? when we got there, they were previewing a new musical called "The Thing About Men". Five West End stars singing live in a tiny basement about 2 foot in front of us! It was SOOOOOO COOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and we got to meet Anthony Drewe who wrote "Honk" and "Just So"

We really urgently need summer school applications.
If you have said you're coming but have not yet sent a form, that isn't enough this year!
We have to give numbers for our new venue. By the end of April.
So guess what'll happen to Summer School if we haven't enough people by then?...
(Sounds of laceration of throats)...no we won't cut YOUR THROATS... Summer School will be beheaded. Which means it won't be able to happen this year, on account of being headless.
If of course you send in a form AFTER we have had to axe either course, we reserve the right to cut your throat at that point.
If you know someone who's supposed to be coming, please bug them. And badger them. And pester them until they have sent in their form.

A concert grand piano valued at £45,000 is thought to have been wrecked after falling off a removal lorry in Devon.
The piano was being brought to the home of John and Penny Adie, the organisers of the Two Moors Festival, an annual music event on Dartmoor and Exmoor.
But disaster struck when it toppled over and fell 2.5m (8.2ft) before landing on a bank, causing extensive damage to the instrument.
Removals firm G&R declined to comment on the incident. (!!??!)
The moments before and after the fall were captured on camera by Mrs Adie, 54, who was hoping to record a highpoint for the festival.
But joy turned to horror as she recorded how the piano toppled onto a bank....

We decided that it was wrong that we were away from LMA for so long SO came up with a most awesome idea!
We should have mini LMA day workshops on various performing arts related things (dance, acting, singng, costume, make-up etc) and the older LMA-ers could help run it, we could run them for little-uns possibly (Kat's idea)

These have been booked for 8th December 2007 (fees etc to follow), but you might want to be considering your groupings/ solo undertakings, if you want to do one of these as we'll be starting work before the end of this term... start researching your material!!!

But from 2008 they are counted as points on UCAs (they are already accredited in the UK by the QCA) so if you have the following reulsts you can get points for uni entrance:

Wooo! Can't believe it's all done, couldnt go to bed without a little post. Everyone was so fantastic i personally thought we absolutely rocked so well done everyone! Last show especially was amayzing - i wish i could be Horton forever and live in the jungle of nool... oh, i forgot my clover :S it's lost in woolpit! Maybe i'm more like Horton than i thought...

ive been working at cambridge arts theatre, just stepping in for someone doin wardrobe type things and ive been working with neil pearson and janie dee and they are so so lovely. if you dont know who they are look them up on the net, you'll prob recognise them.
