I am currently trying to repair an old engine block (gray cast iron, I suppose) by using a modern MIG welder, especially built for MIG brazing with CuSi2 wire. So far the results have not been really satisfying. Though I do have some bonding, I am still able to "chissel off" the weld from the cast iron. Is there any suggestion from your part about the chances for this repair method ? Thanks in advance for your reaction !
