check millerwelds.com for alot of good info, a small tig welder that is good name brand will run u about $1700.00 to$2000.00, buy major name brand(miller,lincoln), parts and service are fairly easy to obtain, not common brands are made over seas usually and once u buy, good luck getting parts, service, or consumables,not many local repair shops work on or have parts for them, stay away from inverter welders, costly to repair, and expensive to buy, buy standard transformer welder, i prefer miller because they are good about warranty parts and service, not that lincoln is not good, just by past experiences miller very good to work with, u may want to give him a picture in an envelope of what u are getting him b4 spending alot of money, that way he can choose then u can buy, just my opinion on spending alot of money or wasting alot of money, good luck
