Subject: Can anyone be taught Gaelic?

I was wondering if anyone can be taught Gaelic? I'm an African-American woman who loves listening to the language and would love one day to go to Ireland and Scotland. But I want to learn the language (native language, that is) before I go. Can this be done? Thanks for everything.

Teri
