What a story! Unfortunately, it's like everyone's story who lives with addiction. It all unfolds pretty much the same way as you describe yours. What you need to do and what you are willing to do are two very different things. You need to let him suffer the consequences of his actions. You need to get him out of the house and away from the children. He needs treatment. Your community and physicians need to be educated. Call 1-866-HEROIN1 for help. It's a 24 hour help line that is supported by people who have lived your story. It is not just for heroin, either. Please call the number and get some help. The help line can help you locate clinics and rehabs in your area, too. Mostly though, this is your husband's issue and until he gets sick of the life he's leading he won't change it. You get help for yourself and take care of yourself. You are physically ill and you can't heal your body while you worry about him. Your children need you; so get help for yourself and get away from him so he can work on his problem. I am sorry for your illness and hope you can get medical treatment right away. Your situation is very difficult but not one that can't be overcome. Many people get treatment for cancer and addiction and lead a great life. My prayers are with you.
