dear lisa,
buphenorphen will keep him content and make it very unlikely that he will use while on it. unlike methadone that one can overshoot with a bag of h, buph. has a much better blocking affect to other narcotics. And it is once a month and there are not all the little bottles of liquid take home crap. There is a noticeable diff., in thinking as well. Good Luck
