Believe me I know it seems like a miracle as i was addicted to oxy and H for over 3 years ( i'm now 25) and tried repeatedly to quit and just couldn't, the withdrawl was too bad. About 13 months ago I found a doctor who prescribed me suboxone and I too thought it was a miracle. I started out taking 22mg a day and over 12 months the doctor worked me down to 1mg a day. I was psyched as I thought stopping completely would be no problem too but after spending two weeks taking only a quarter of a 2mg pill each day I quit. And spent the next 6 days in bed withdrawing miserably. Please remember this is still an OPIATE and there will be withdrawl when you quit. Try to work your dosage down as low as you comfortably can as soon as possible even if your doc wants you to take more. If you can get by on less take less. Remember your doctor gets paid for every prescription he writes. The longer you stay on suboxone the harder it will be to stop taking that. I am happy to report though tht it has now been 2 weeks since i started feeling better and for the first time in about 4 years I feel like myself again.
