Doctors don't get paid to write prescriptions for buprenorphine. As with any medical condition, it is always the patient's responsibility to take care of his own condition. Gone are the days where the doctor is god and knows everything. There are too many medications out there for a doctor to be really knowledgable about. Glad to hear you are better. You're right. It's an opiate and you can be dependent on bup just as easily as any other opiate.
