My daughter was on methadone years ago and she had a very difficult time getting adjusted to the dose. She had swollen legs and vomiting. It became apparent that the dose was too large for her small body and she was put on a very low dose. It was difficult to convince the nurses that this was the case, though. Reactions to methadone are either not common or go unreported and therefore clinic personnel don't believe there is a problem. I would consider lowering the dose just to see what happens.
