I am in the UK and i am a heroin addict and the response by the so called doctor franz... is so uniformed I am astounded
I was bought up in a very well rounded and stable home and would never blame my parents for my drug use,it is a decision that I made
I have held down a professional career all through my 8 years of addiction and would like to say to the parent of that child that you are not to blame
There is no way a parent can be there all the time for a child and the absurd view point of the "doctor" should not be taken seriously - if you want any info from me from an educated point of view feel free to ask
I normally dont get involved in this type of thing but just browsing the net and seeing this made me so angry, the Dr is making a person who already feels guilty and probably depressed EVEN WORSE and this is not a motivating factor in helping either the parent or the addicted child resolve their issues
To the "doc" I suggest you seriously review your position as you have no right to spout this nonsense and the damage you are doing is far outweighs the good as far as I can see.You are a disgrace to your profession
