My 24 year old daughter lives with a narcotics addict. A short time ago she admitted occassional drug use since her teens. Her last admitance was cocaine. Over the past year her health has deteriorated. She has lost about 20 pounds and looks like a skeleton. Her complaints are depression, then happy or calm, mood swings, loss of short term memory, no concentration, angry, confused, frustrated, no appetite, nausea and vomitting, diarrhea, back and abdominable pain. I have asked her about her drug use but she is very emphatic that she has no drug problem and that all her symptoms are stress related. Frankly, I don't believe her. She is going to go to a psychiatrist to see if it helps. She is very apathetic and lethargic. If its not drug related she must be a very sick girl. I want to believe her but I think I am being duped. What do you think?
