Hello
Im sorry to hear about your son. Unfortunately I have learnt the hard way, that you cant help him, Only he can want to, admitting his problem was the first step but he needs to take the next. My husband was an addict/alcoholic for a long time and for 5yrs of our relationship, I kept trying to help him, but only enabled him to do it more. It was the worst time of my life, but I learnt alot from it, and nnow know that he can only help himself. He has finally and is sober now for 1yr and 1/2. My husband also, stopped caring about being clean and showering, and even brushing his teeth, he was a bad drinker and eventually turned to heroin. You can offer to be there for your son, but you cant help change him. You can support him in anyway you can. I dont know his living environment but hes young and living with 2 friends, most likely they are partying all the time, if he really wants help, he prob wont get too far if hes in that kind of environment. I hope he gets better... Email me if u ever want to talk... I know how you are feeling trust me, HELPLESS!!! SCARED!!! I know all about it.
