I am living with my husband and 4 year old son. My husband did not smoke indoors before and now does so for the past 2 years and refuses to stop.Aside from him being stubborn about this and having no respect for my health or rights as a human being the marriage is ok.He is a heavy smoker, about 2 packs a day and I cannot stand it. I have a chronic throat problem because of it and even though my son is large and healthy &has no symptoms, I know it is terrible healthwise for him. I am not able to move or afford my own place, and I don't know what to do. Can I get like a Peace/Protective order that would prohibit him from smoking near me and my son? Is there any legal recourse for this or do I just toss the whole relationship and move out to wherever? I am broke so I would still have to leave my son behind and it just seems like a huge thing to deal with just to get away from smoke but I am at my wit's end. I can't stand it. Even when I can open the windows it does nothing, and it is so cold right now and it was hot in the summer, and I haveno luck with air cleaners because I simply can't afford the "good" kind.
I just don't know what to do.
