Looking for information about the Belknap B69 .410. Who made it, is it possible to match parts on another gun? The forearm latch is broken and would like to get it fixed.

We have acquired a 12 guage Belknap from my uncle(it was my grandfather's), someone told my son it wasn't safe. Can anyone help me to find out about this model B64 Belknap, Louisville,Ky. It has fancy engraving of a goose flying on the left hand side of the action. My grandpa used it for years for turkey hunting.
