Subject: Shotgun Question

 I have a question on a shotgun I received from a friend that passed away recently. The shotgun is 12 gauge nickle plated,single shot,break open but no markings except for serial number. The weapon will only beak open if on halfcock position and lever to use for break open is located on left side just back of trigger. Serial number is located on part where barrel connects to buttstock and and just behind hammer. Butt plate is also nickle over wood. Anyone have any idea what type of shotgun this is???
