Thanks for the map. I think that I'll have to go and see though, although the web site has all sorts of goodies as well beyond the map.

Terrain. AMEN brother! We are planning precisely the same ampitheatre style seating for the that whole "best seat in the house" view. They take it seriously at Maryland by providing (the pictures on the web site showed) bleecher seating for the joust. Too cool. There are also practical reasons for the use of hill space.... you can't use it for much else than seating!

Another planning concept is to consider that path of the sun and when your shows will be happening. I had an disappointing experience at the Maine Ren Fair because they had (seemingly) failed to consider that the sun sets in the west. The audience has 2 options a) Stand 80-100 feet from the show or b) get a uniquely blinding/baking viewing angle of the show lit but the west setting sun. Ugh. Nice equestrian area that they made, but very poor planning. That's why we are here having this chat. So that we will have better plans.
