- Whispered Tales - Harmonies -- Whispered Tales, 11:34:47 04/11/03 Fri [1]
Harmonies
29th - 31st August
Nottinghamshire
"Council Dispatch
With great joy the Council of Min Hiraith would let it be known that our long standing friends and allies, the Rutani of the Great Wood, have again made a treaty of peace with us.
It is good news in a troubled time, for it is with the deepest sorrow the council of Min Hiraith must confirm that the Hamlet of Dagneth has been raised to the ground by the savage Felagbar. Many men are feared dead, dying in defense of their families and homesteads. An undetermined number of women and children are missing, presumed taken by these bloodthirsty barbarian raiders from the north.
The council of Min Hiraith cannot stand by and let helpless innocents suffer such vile acts of aggression. Let it be known that it is our will that the Justicars and their guard ride north. The innocents of Dagneth, shall be rescued from their captors and the dead avenged. The Felagbar must be taught that the people of Min Hiraith are a people to be respected.
We would urge all those who can use sword, bow or axe to travel to the northern town of Celoth and join with our noble law enforcers, and aid the rescue of these poor victims of Dagneth."
Rumours have been whispered in the shadows; of people disappearing and strange creatures stalking the land. The Council of Min Hiraith have instructed Lady Kit of Justicars to seek the truth to these rumours…
…Darkness. Fear. Pain. The sound grows louder. Hissing and clicking works its way through the unconscious mind and buries itself deep within the soul. Another sound intrudes and washes away the first. A voice brings peace and light. Light! The darkness recedes and forgotten memories return, bringing with them hope…
…the location of missing have been found after six days of searching. The Gypsy caravan of Yolanda sets off to rescue their kidnapped comrades. Magic, faith and steel are all combined as people put aside their differences to rescue friends and loved ones from the strange creatures known as the Chitterers.
‘Trilogy’ has been postponed but in its place is ‘Harmonies’, the next event in the Whispered Tales campaign.

- Students with a historical film need some help -- Laura J, 13:48:38 02/24/03 Mon [1]
HI, this is a pretty desparate call from a student graduation production in Devon. We are producing a samurai film and are shooting March 29 - April 1, and the people supplying replica swords have dropped out, to work on a film in LA. we therefore desparatly need to find 4- 5 blunt replica katanas, in the local area (plymouth/ Torbay) for the film, we are flat broke so we cant pay or travel for pickup or drop off, but the film gets screened at Warner Villiage and at a local film festival we are organising, as well as then being sent on to other international festivals which is all good advertising - this is if we can get the film done now!!!! please email me on thezenscrolls@yahoo.com as soon as you can. Our project website in case you are interesed is www.angelfire.com/film/zenscrolls Please let us know if you can help or know anyone who can.

- Words of Welcome -- Whispered Tales, 11:50:18 12/23/02 Mon [1]
Words of Welcome
4th - 6th April 2003
Overstone Scout Camp, Northampton
It is the eve of Fore Spring and the beginning of the Rutani New Year. In the coastal hamlet of Ramsford that borders the Rutani Great Wood people begin to gather, coming from far and wide to catch a glimpse of the strange and mysterious people of the woods. It is traditional for the Councilor of Ramsford, Lady Faye Sommerbourne, to perform the annual Ritual of Welcome with the Rutani elders.
Important councilors and persons from all walks of life gather at the country manor of Lady Faye, the Gypsy caravans come together for the chance to trade with the Rutani and to talk about matters of trade amongst themselves.
Festivities are planned to celebrate this important time. The first official Pit Fight of the year is scheduled to take place, drawing famous and not so famous as the fighters to prove themselves, and to gain a reputation. Others come hoping for the chance to make some money and to see the fighters in preparation for the final contest in Adethrad at Summer Solstice.
It is a time of rejoicing and merriment when friends and different peoples come together as the harsh grip of the cold winter months gives way to the green growth of spring. What can possibly happen to disturb these festivities?
“Words of Welcome” is the 2nd event in the Whispered Tales campaign, following on from “Whispers in the Dark” – photos from the first event are available at http://www.whatalovelywar.co.uk/whispers.htm. The event starts on the Friday evening and finished in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Price:
Player £50 before 21st Feb £60 after 21st Feb catered Scripted £20 fully catered
Crew £10 fully catered

- Whispers in the Dark -- Whispered Tales, 13:35:08 08/07/02 Wed [1]
“Whispers in the Dark”
1st November - 3rd November 2002
Boarfold Scout Camp, Nr Glossop, Derbyshire
"Winter approaches, to the North the snow capped mountains rise like broken teeth against the grey sky, whilst to the East the bare limbs of the trees of the Rutani Great Wood show the lateness of the season.
For the quiet and sleepy hamlet of Dagneth, nestled between these two great landmarks, in the north eastern most corner of Min Hiraith they simply provide an awe inspiring panoramic view of the world beyond the safety of the plains. The Drunken Dragon is warm refuge for the hardy settlers of Dagneth after a hard day at work and a welcome sight to the weary travellers who pass by the village on their way to more interesting places.
Winter tightens its grip but it is the eve of Halloween and the celebrations of naming day for those born in aft autumn are just beginning."
Whispers in the Dark is the first event in a new fantasy campaign by Whispered Tales, set in the quiet and peaceful world of Min Hiraith - but how long will the tranquillity last? It is a new and exciting world where you can play anything from a mage to a pit fighter, a Rutani scout to one of the law enforcing justicars, a priest to a rugged barbarian from the north - and more.
To play £50 (fully catered, £5 discount for booking before 16th August) To crew £10 (fully catered, free if self catered). To find out more or book a place contact the ref team at: whisperedtales@hotmail.com

- Much querying -- Dragonhalf, 20:04:12 05/24/02 Fri [2]
::Newbie Alert!::
Now we got that out the way...I work as a driver in Stoke on Trent, England. On one of my routes, I saw a sign pointed to Kibblestone Scout Camp marked "Wolf Faction LRP Event". That provoked my curiosity to come here.
Basically, Ive done book roleplay games (much diversity) for nearly 10 years, and Ive ~heard~ of LRP, but never found any LRP groups until my discovery of this curious little sign. Could someone with plenty of patience =^-^= give me a quick run-down of what its all about? And by run-down, I mean tell me about it, not run me over with a waggon and horses...
Thanks in advance of any replies,
Dragonhalf

Welcome to the new look Planned Events Listing!
So, I've finally done it and found a dedicated site to host the Planned Events Listing. It's still the same old listing and everything works the same as the old one, but it means I'm no longer clogging up Smurf's webspace. :)
Many thanks for everyone's invaluable support over the last few years, let's hope it continues to get better. :)

- Bel's Faire Postponement -- Simon Brind - Earthworks (London) LRP, 20:20:44 03/27/01 Tue [1]
Unfortunately Candlestone Camp Site can no longer guarantee to be re-opened in time for Bel's Faire and as a result we have had to take the decision to postpone the event.
A postal mailing will be going out at the end of this week with details of refunds for those that want them.
Whilst we are aware that some sites are not affected by the foot and mouth closures, the Bel's Faire event has been written to take advantage of a number of natural features of the site and we don't feel we can move it elsewhere without affecting the overall quality of the event.

- BPL -- Catherine A (via Mike Horrill on behalf of Gwyn), 19:27:38 03/04/01 Sun [1]
B.L.P. Update
The sheep giveth, the sheep taketh it away again
General: As you will already have heard, due to the outbreak of foot & mouth disease the site manager of Candleston has instructed us to postpone the event due to take place 9 - 11th March. As far as I know the current state of play in Candleston (for those of you who know the site) is that access to the car parks and thus dunes, forest and camping area has been restricted. We currently do not know how long this situation will be in force.
Options: We've discussed a few things and feel that rather than finding a new site (and hoping that it doesn't suffer the same fate) we are going to stick with Candleston and try to arrange a new date once we have a better idea of the situation
New Dates: Obviously choosing a new date is likely to be dependent upon length of time it will take for the threat of F & M to pass. Currently we are planning on rescheduling for Early - Mid June. Any feedback concerning the rescheduling (including exam dates for the various uni's)would be appreciated.
Refunds: We are planning on offering a full refund for any who want them. If you have already paid you may of course choose to leave your payment and details with us and simply attend the re-scheduled event. For any who have not booked and wish to attend once a new date has been finalised the price will be frozen at £25, £30 on the gate for now though we'll announce exact details once a new date has been set.
Contact: We'll be contacting all who have booked individually tonight but failing that you can either get hold of us at the email address below or by phone
Gwyn: 01792 553 554
Chris: 01792 413 596
And Finally: Apologies to all for having to take these steps though unfortunately it's something that we had no way of planning for. Thanks to all for the offers of help in clearing the situation up, it's greatly appreciated and hopefully we'll be able to sort something out a.s.a.p.
Thanks for listening, you've been a wonderful audience, goodnight.
Gwyn

- Foot and mouth disease -- Catherine A, 22:25:12 03/01/01 Thu [1]
The outbreak of foot and mouth in the UK has led to a degree of uncertainty regarding events, especially those held at campsites.
If you have any queries as to whether an event is affected by the outbreak, please contact the organisers or keep a lookout on the relavant bulletin boards. Some events have been affected and these are shown as postponed or cancelled on the main list, others are definately going ahead. I will do my best to keep the news on events up-to-date and I thank you for your patience. :)
