I think Cherokee is the most unlikely tribe for Quebec but, who knows? There were Revolutionary War soldiers from the southeastern areas that fought in New York and were, I believe, mixed blood Indian. The names, though, especially Steele, are more indigenous to the Mohawk Valley (My Steele family comes from there.). I'm curious where the generations between yourself and America resided.
