I am researching my direct ancestor, Richeson Taylor and Isabella Williams born about 1790 in Amherst, Virginia. Their daughter Sarah Ann married James Frederick Beverly and my direct ancestor, and their son Richard born in 1816 married Mary Ann, Jane Dempsey, and Ann Dempsey.
I have been able to find some records in the Deeds of Amherst County, VA 1827-1852 as well as in a book called Strangers in Their Midst.
Richeson is in the 1820 census for Amherst but disappears before that date and Isabella is in the 1840 Census in Amherst as well as showing personal property tax in the same book Strangers in Their Midst.
I would love to find others that are researching this line. I'm becoming frustrated that I can't find any records for either of them. I have been told through several people also researching this line that Isabella was of the Monacan Tribe.
