You can get a short-term subscription to the US Census on either ancestry.com or genealogy.com. Using the subscription, view the families in the 1930, 1920, 1910 and 1900 censuses for the areas where they lived. If they were enrolled Indian they will show up in the 1910 and 1900 as such in that census in the Indian Schedule.

If not, you will want to check the 1896 Dawes and 1906 Dawes Rolls indexes at http://www.accessgenealogy.com. If their exact names do not show there, try researching the families with the same surnames.

If they cannot be found in the 1880 or earlier censuses, it may be because they were living in the Indian Territory. You will need to search the district records of the Indian Territory from the OK Historical Society (available on microfilm from Salt Lake City) to see if they appear there.

The research of this type is complex and I can tell you much more about it than what I can write here. If you would like the help of a professional, please let me know.
