We were not allowed to ask about our heritage until after my grandparents past away. The Gonzalez name was assumed by my grandfather because Mexicans had more rights than indians at that time, he did it for survival? My grandmother gave me the name of Running feather when I was 5 years old. I overheard once talk about irquoi or seriqoui indian tribe? What tribe would possible use names such as running feather?
