 Are either of the two names Pynchon or Clapp of Cherokee origin. My 6th ggrandmother on my mothers side was named Marie or Mary (last name not known). She married a Scotch-Irishman and moved west to Iowa to a town that was later, named after there son who was a physician. I have been able to get geanology only back to the sixth generation on my mothers side, whereas I have been able to get 16 generations on my fathers side of the family. Please help if possible.
