Subject: 1347th Squadron Information

I found my dad's scrap book from the war. He is 81 years old now and it is only on a rare occasion that he will talk about his WWII experience. After serving in the 15th then the 8th air force groups as a radio operator on B-17 - he was scheduled to come home and then called back to serve in CBI (his name is Robert R Moore and he served in the 1347th as a radio operator). He was on C-109's, C-87's, and C-54's. I am having a lot of difficulty discovering how the 1347th fit into the whole picture. I am trying to put it all together into a memory scrap book so that I, his granddaughter and future generations never forget what these men did to preserve out freedom. Any information that someone can supply would be a great help.
