I was statysion at 1304 from jan 43 to aug 45. I remember the b25 crash but I do not know much about it. I think they change a engine on it and took it off to test the new engine and I think it crashed on take off or maybe landing.. I think some of the repair guys on it were from the ATC which I was in as a crewchief and flight engr flying the hump..
Barrackspore was a base ( near Calcutta, the ride to the city was about 15-30 minutes as I remember)( you can find it on the inter-net now but it does not look like anything like it use to be during WW2) that grew with the war.. ATC was the main outfit but there were some more outfits station on the base.. There was a control tower and a pretty good runway but it had a slight hump in the middle of it which caused a c46 to crash as the pilot thought he was air borm..Their is a record of the B25 crash in the Book Aluminuum Trails which covers a lot of crashes in the CBI Ask me some more questions and I will see if I can help you... Ex Sgt.Mike Carew I was at 1304 from Jan 43 to aug 45 and left just before the war ended as I had enough flying time or points to go home ....
