Hello. I've just now discovered your message, apparently four years after you posted it. I don't know if my dad would know your father or not but he served in the 1539th in 1944 and 1945. My dad is Tandy Newton Bond and he was a staff sargeant -- he was the head cook! I'm trying to gather information on all the places this group went in the south Pacific -- Dad can't remember a lot of the names. I will show him your message and see if he recalls the name. Please let me know if you have info to share. Perhaps we can piece some of the big picture together. We live in Greenville, Texas. Thank you.
