Joseph Sipior 3rd Combat Cargo, Burma, 1943 -- CBI & Combat Cargo Groups

Subject: Joseph Sipior 3rd Combat Cargo, Burma, 1943

Hello,

I am trying to track down anyone who served with Joe Sipior in Burma (Imphal). He's a neighbor of mine, recently moved to the V.A. Home. He started telling me stories recently and trying to remember names. We were able to trace Verner Reed (passed away), found his photography book online (no picts from the service) but little else. Joe spent much of his life as a farmer and father (one daughter, Joyce) in East Providence, Rhode Island, and up until the age of 86 (last year) was still working a small farm, growing vegetables and award winning flowers, still out chopping his own firewood and outworking men half his age. A great guy. A year ago he had a shoulder pain that was found to be more serious and he's been laid up since. Too much lying around for a guy of his ilk has given him time to reflect on some old memories, and I told him about the vast info available on the internet. I would love to find an old service buddy or two and surprise him with a hello from the past and an update on what has happened to friends from 65 years ago. Thanks for any response,
