Hi Roger,

This is from the book "The Aluminum Trail" by Chick Marrs Quinn. On page 57 it has the following info.

Cpl. Florian Sticka, 37315004 was the Radio operator on a C-46 #2287. They were on a ferry mission from the home base of Sookerating to Kunming, China. "The plane was attacked by enemy aircraft and severely damaged. The pilot, ordered the crew to bail out. It is believed that the radio operator could have been killed, when he bailed out, as he was floating down in his parachute, the wing of the aircraft blew off. It is possible that all or part of the wing, hit CPL. Sticka. His body was not recovered and he was later declared dead. Many searches by the Rescue team from Chabua, were unable to locate any sign of the radio operator."
