Although he may have been B-25 qualified it is highly unlikely he flew 'spare time' combat missions with the 490th Bm Sq "Burma Bridge Busters", because by early 1944 their tactics were quite specialized. However, the 490th was tasked with using its B-25 to assist in the re-supply of ground forces during and just after the Myitkyina campaign and he may have flown with them then.

Also, some of the 490th pilots were transferred to 1st Air Commando B-25s, and then to Combat Cargo when the B-25s were dropped from the Air Commando role.

I have the 490th personnel roster. If you post his name, or email me, I can check to see if he was ever assigned to the squadron.
