Subject: Info on William Andrew Beven- Hump Pilot

Looking for information on William (Bill) A. Beven. Army Air Corps ATC. Flew transports over Burma, India, China in 1943-4. Graduated pilot training at Stockton Field, CA Oct 1942. Came from Kansas. Earned Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. Upon return, was Captain-killed in plane crash due to aircraft failure near Reno Air Base Jan 6, 1945 leaving infant son. No parachutes on plane. Do not know unit or squadron. Trying to gather info for family. Any info is greatly appreciated, especially if there are any photos or unit info. Did record research through military record search, appears records destroyed in 1973 fire. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
